The Name Our Storm campaign was first introduced by Met Éireann and the Met Office (UK) in 2015 and were joined by the Royal Netherlands Meteorological Institute (KNMI) in its fifth storm season 2019/20. There were nine named storms during the 2019/20 storm season, which ran from Sunday 1 September 2019 to Monday 31 August 2020 (inclusive). The named storms were Lorenzo (named by the National Hurricane Centre), Atiyah, Elsa, Brendan, Ciara, Dennis, Jorge (named by AEMet, the Spanish Meteorological Service), Ellen and Francis.

Sustained wind speeds are shaded according to the Beaufort land-wind scale as follows:
