There were 11 named storms during the 2017/18 storm season, which ran from Friday 1 September 2017 to Friday 31 August 2018 (inclusive). The named storms were Aileen, Ophelia (named by the National Hurricane Centre), Brian, Caroline, Dylan, Eleanor, Fionn, David (named by Metéo France), Georgina, Emma (named by IPMA, the Portuguese Institute for Sea and Atmosphere) and Hector.
