Ireland was in a fresh to strong southerly airflow, generated by a depression of 953 hPa centred west of Iceland. An associated front lay over the country. It was a mostly cloudy day with just some short sunny breaks at first in the East. It remained mostly dry across much of the Northeast throughout the day. It was a windy day, with fresh southerly winds, strong at times on western coasts. Towards evening, persistent rain developed in the South and West, which moved east across the country through the early night.

Ireland had a strong to gale force southerly airflow as active fronts moved in from the West overnight. A transient ridge built for a time on Sunday. Low pressure in the nearby Atlantic directed a strong to gale force southwest flow again later in the day. It was a wet start to the morning with spot flooding in places. However, overnight rain gradually cleared eastwards as sunny skies developed. During the evening, cloud increased in the West along with some drizzle.

The morning was mostly dry and cloudy, with patches of light rain and drizzle over western counties. Persistent rain developed in the West in the afternoon, spreading eastwards, and became widespread by the evening, heavy at times in the West. Moderate to gusty southerly winds developed, strongest near Atlantic coasts.

A front moved eastwards over Ireland. There was a strong to gale force southerly airflow ahead of the front and an unstable fresh to strong west to southwest airflow behind it. The front cleared southeastwards by the afternoon. The day started generally wet across the South and the West. The showers gradually moved towards the East and the North by the morning. The afternoon was a mix of sunshine and scattered showers countrywide, some heavy with hail in the North and West. The night was dry for most with isolated showers and long clear spells.

The day started clear, with fog patches dissipating by morning. Clouds increased from the West, though the day remained mostly dry with isolated light showers in the South and later in the West. Overnight, rain spread across the North and West, while the rest of the country remained dry with clear skies.
