Overnight into Thursday morning, widespread cloud covered the entire country, bringing sleet and snow to the West, Midlands, East, and in spots over the North. Rain also affected the south. Precipitation and cloud moved south/southeast, clearing by midday for most of the Republic of Ireland. By late afternoon, patches of rain were seen along the West coast. By evening, the cloud had mostly cleared across Ireland, except in the North, where spots of snow were moving across the South/Southeast and into the Midlands overnight. Snow accumulations over the 24-hour period were highest in the Midlands and South coast, with much lighter amounts recorded in the North.

Very heavy rain throughout the night moved eastwards and cleared by midday, with snow on roads in the North. Flooding occurred in many areas, with the heaviest rain in the West, while the east experienced less intense rainfall. Rain returned to the south by mid-afternoon and spread across the country during the evening. There were brief breaks in the cloud along the Atlantic coasts, but it remained overcast elsewhere. An unstable moderate to fresh westerly airflow covered Ireland. The day was mostly clear, with only small amounts of cloud in the north of the country early in the morning. Cloud spread across the east, southeast, northwest regions, and the Midlands by the afternoon, bringing some precipitation to the coastline in the late hours of the night.

Frosty overnight and during the morning with fog patches in Midlands that lingered throughout the day. The day was also mostly dry with spells of sunshine. Foggy and frosty condiations reeturn that evening.

A strong to gale force southeast airflow developed over Ireland on Thursday. The day began cloudy, with light rain and showers moving in from the south by midday. Showers were scattered in the far west and northwest during the afternoon and evening. Overall, it was a cloudy day.

It was a wet and windy day, with rain in the West and Southwest becoming more widespread across the country. During the afternoon and evening, the rain gradually cleared into the Irish Sea, followed by showers from the southwest. The day remained mostly cloudy with scattered showers, and some patches of mist formed into the night.

A low-pressure system of 982 hPa centered near the Faroe Islands extended a fresh southwest airflow over Ireland. A showery trough tracked eastwards over the country, and a strong northwest airflow became established during the day. The night was mostly dry with a few isolated showers. Rain spread from the southwest coast in the morning, moving eastwards throughout the day and into the evening, before clearing into the Irish Sea during the night. It was very windy along the coasts during the day, and mist developed in the evening.
